Hi and welcome to my guide I'm currently trying to build up a massive collection of badges and other police memorbilia from around the world and currently have several American And German police things but am lacking any British, Canadian, French,Austrian,Hungarian,Russian(non Soviet),Australian,Hongkong, ect. Police things and I also collect the vehicle equipment and currenty have 2 Illinois State Police door emblems and 5 gumball lights and 3 police siren sound systems for vehicles
Here is some diecast models I customized for police service in various countries : They include Germany, Holland, and Russia(non soviet) I always Detail any Head,Tail,Turnsignal, ect. Light on them for realism.
This is a Hotwheels Porsche 911 model p911 Converted to Autobahn Polizei
All models I convert are hand painted taking about 1 day to complete with pain staking attention to detail and before you ask no I don't sell them but I do proudly show them off but the pictures are a bit blury from my digital camera so I tell you what's on the vehicle (markings ect.)
This one is done in Polizei standard Green and white with a blue light on the windshield and siren on the hood at the rear it also has MK on the trunk in front. It was copied after the Siku 1978 Porsche polizei car but unlike it which was a convertible impropperly cast as a hard top this is a convertible with a T top which makes for a more accurate depiction of what the polizei used at that time !
I get inspirations from either expensive antique Siku police cars or the larger scale Gama cars and trucks and convert small scale 1:55-1:64 to resemble these cause I don't collect any large scale ones just 1:50-1:87 scale Matchbox,Siku,Herpa,MCtoy,Maisto,Hotwheels,Majorette,Wiking. ect. All work fine for my collection
Here is a nice Maisto VW 1300 Average Hotwheels and Matchbox size sedan Beatle 1960's-1970's In solid Dark Polizei Green I copied it from the Gama model in 1:43 scale from Classic Minature vehicles Made In Germany by Dr. Edward Force but I added the Polizei print to the roof as well. It was origanally Blue and that was left on all I did was add green and it made this briliant dark green you see here then after it dried I bored a small hole and added a gumball light to the roof. This took the longest cause I didn't have tools and used a nail and hammer do it but all things considered I think it turned out quite nice considering I was only a kid when I made this one. The print was at that time done with a tooth pick diped in white paint .
This was also my first creation done when I was 13. Alot of what I use is old childhood relics whose paint didn't stand the test of time thus I restore the original paint or redo them in better colors I've gotten better tools now though to do this LOL!
Also note that any writing I do on the vehicles is neat and clean (not sloppy as it looks in these pictures) because these pictures don't realy do the vehicles justice and are quite low in quailty you can't see the great attention I apply to detail in them but belive me when I started this it was so I could have perfect duplicates of those Expensive Matchbox Premiere series and Sikus at a poor mans budjet and I feel in a way I've succeded in this but bear in mind also the expensive ones have some detail that is simply beyound my skill such as license plates and fancy door emblems and refelctive decals.
The roof is completly painted and not damaged as looks in the photo that is simply glare from the light
This is my crowning achievment a perfect copy of the Siku Mercedes Polizei auto
from the V series. It was made from a nameless generic diecast from China a yard sale find for 25 cents it has no brand name but is possibly a MegaMovers or Imperial Diecast it was originally a sissy Pink and I hate Pink so it was quickly converted to Polizei Green and White. I done this one in 1998. The gumball is made from a light bright peg cut to size and glued with metal cement to the roof the print was done with my prensent method using expensive German precesion KOh I Nor radiograph drawing pens diped in white paint and careful pain stakingly slow skillful writing on the car. The grill is chrome as is the seats and chasis of this car the head and tail lights are finley painted as is the reverse lights the front axle is bad on this one... it was like that when bought but the rear one is fine and the car displays quite nicely. This car took a bit longer cause it had to be handeled with care as the metal on these generics is crudely made and so thin that if miss handeled you can crush it flat !
Update: also done is a Volkspolizei model of this car when I find where I've stored it I'll picture it in part 3 when it is done so keep looking !!!
Polizei is wrote on the hood, doors, and roof I belive the model is of a 1965-1968 Mercedes it is average Matchbox Siku, Hotwheels ect. size
See part 2 for more vehicles
