Plus Size Lingerie Buying Guide
Anyone who's watched an episode or two of What Not To Wear knows that properly fitting lingerie is critical for all women. When your lingerie fits properly, your clothes fit better, often giving you a leaner look that's figure-flattering. As an example, a properly fitting plus size bra can do as much for your figure as several visits to the gym.
When it comes to buying plus size lingerie, you want to eliminate anything that binds or cuts into the skin. Most of us want lingerie to make us look as smooth as possible. You're not going to do that with things that are in any way too small. When it comes to lingerie, buying too small can actually make you look bigger.
Before buying, make sure you know your correct bra size. Chances are, unless you've been professionally measured, you're not wearing the right size. If your breasts spill out of the cups into your armpits, your cup size is too small. If the strap in the back rides up, your bra's band strap is too big. If your breasts appear to sag in your brassiere, then you may need criss-cross support, stronger straps, and/or an underwire. If the straps dig into your shoulders, look for wider straps.
If you're looking for sexy plus size intimates for bedroom wear, what matters most is how glamorous and beautiful they make you feel. However, if you're looking for plus size panties as foundation garments, remember that bikinis are not usually as attractive under clothes as panties that rise all the way to the waistline of whatever you're wearing. For a smooth look, try a plus size thong (to eliminate pantyline) or the plus size brief, which will eliminate a double bulge around the hips.
