It's fair to say that the closest most people will ever get to Pine Valley is reading a book about it. This guide explains what books have been published about Pine Valley.
Pine Valley: A Unique Haven of the Game
Published in 2000, authored by James Finegan. The book is 250 pages and the cover is done in green cloth with the Pine Valley logo in gilt on the cover. It was published with a matching slipcase. The book is profusely illustrated with many color and black and white photographs including a hole-by-hole analysis at the back of the book.
A Short History of Pine Valley
Written by John Arthur Brown, a former president of Pine Valley. 38 pages. Was printed three times. The first printing was in 1963, the second in 1968 and the third in 1974. All three editions were issued with a white protective slipcase.
Pine Valley Golf Club: A Chronicle
Edited by Shelly Warner and published in 1982 the book is 116 pages. This is our favorite of the Pine Valley books. It also offers a hole-by-hole picture analysis of the course. One section of the book recounts famous statements made about Pine Valley and is very entertaining. Issued with a green slipcase.
Legendary Golf Clubs of the American East
This book is not strictly about Pine Valley, but it has one chapter dedicated to the course. Published in 2003 it was issued in two editions. A standard hardcover with a dustjacket and a deluxe edition in a green leather with a matching green slipcase. Other courses included in the book are Merion, Seminole, Shinnecock Hills, The National Golf Links, The Country Club and Oakmont. The photographs in the book are out of this world!
