I have had lots of experience with dogs, but I continue to read, research and study ways to improve my understanding of their behavior and what we as humans can do to protect them. I rescue dogs from harsh conditions and take them into my home, not every owner should practice this. Sometimes it can be tragic and unbeneficial. In my experiences the best thing for owner and for dog is to pick the puppy that is right for you.
Step 1:
Realize that a puppy is a lot of responsibility. As a proud new parent you have to be willing to clean up after your new arrival, have a place to put him or her when you are unable to closely supervise them, and be willing to frequent the vet for the first three months.
Step 2:
After you have made arrangements for your new arrival, it is time to figure out what you are looking for in a dog. Every breed has different characteristics and temperaments which should be specific to every owner. Do your research and remember that like every individual dog is different just like every human. Saying this, keep in mind that just becasue a breed has a particular way they are supposed to act doesn't mean every dog is going to be streamline to those characteristics. Bringing us to Step 3.
Step 3
I found this on the Internet and it should help you pick the dog of the litter which is right for you.
