Why leave feedback?

Many ebayers buy things off eBay and get ripped off - i.e. the seller does not send the item or something similar. This sort of thing mainly happens because the buyer has not checked that the seller had a low positive or high number of negative feedbacks.

What most eBayers do is buy off people with a high feedback score and hence they feel safe that they will recieve the item due to others having had it too!  Another reason is that eBayers starting out will want to increase their own feedback so they will buy low price auctions off sellers that are known to leave feedback so they get their score raised up in a short period of time.

Problems of feedback

Many people spend hours a week leaving feedback for their fellow eBayers and so this can get very time consuming if you are a powerseller and sell in high volume.  Also some people wait for positive feedback and then leave the other trader negative feedback so this is obviously unfair and daunting if you rely on good feedback to make good sales jestures such as "look at my good feedback you can trust me" and so on.
