Bare Knuckle contemporary models are based on the original vintage designs but crafted for different modern tones, gain textures, and EQ curves. Thus, all BKPs are very organic and musical. Once you buy a Bare Knuckle for your Stratocaster or Les paul then your done. I just don't ahve the words to talk about their P90s. No more after market pickup shopping.
Early on I was intriqued by all the Harmoncy Central reviews stating that once you get a BKP in one guitar you ahve to have them ina ll your guitars. This is indeed true. All other pickups simply pale in camparison and they have anough lines available to accomadate all playing styles. They could have easily stopped at the Mule Humbucker, The Mothers Milk Singe Coil and the Nailbomb. The other models are further diversified to suite the needs of players with a more tunes in ear to the exac tone they wont. If your really demanding lets pick a model for a genreal base to work from them go from there to craft and wind your pickup. Last year I sold just over 100 CUSTOM user deisigned pickups with no returns. Bare Knukle and Peerlesstone have the expertise to get your tone together for you. Its not just about the picjup and how you want it to sound. Its about your amp and your guitar and the way you play. We actualy use this inforation in sending your order to Tim. I do not want to overehphasise a custom Bare Knucke set in regard to how its wound or the compomnets used. The Stock BKP is the greatest pickup(s) ever made. Tim has already done the work. While some customers are savy enough to order custom pickups with internal changes that effect the sonics (for example a set of Black Dogs for a baratone Gibson Les Pail, or my own Sinner bridge single coil wound and balanced to play nicely with my Mother Milk neck and middle pickup.) For the most past custome orders reflect cosmetic changes that suite ASTHETIC taste and match your guitar. Conver configerations, bolts, pole piece configerations and so fourth. We can sometimes offer etching as well. Most delers do not stock the more exxotic covers like the Camo or the Oil and water or the raw nickel. Gold Pole peices are another custom request thn can be striking. We can do magnet swaps accross pickup sets . These are the pickups we easily get for out customers. Another very common custom order is mixing and matching of the differnt sets to achieve more specific sonic palates or more diverse sonic soundscapes. For instance matching a Mule Neck with a Crawler Bridge is very popular. Peerles Tone is has studied and tested this configerations extensivley and we can recomend combo that may better server you. My favorite strat has a pair of Mothers Milks and a Sinner Bridge. THis is the best sounding srat I have ever played. Whenever someone plays it after I few minutes I always get "this start sounds soooo good". MOst dealers wont split sets to mi and matcg is not cost effective in the way the order stock.
