If you receive an email from "Paypal", do not click on anything in this email. It is probably a "Phishing Attempt" to get your Paypal account name and password. I have received several of these, and they all look legitimate and are VERY professionally done.
Any message you receive from Paypal will also be available at the Paypal so DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK IN THE EMAIL. Instead, go to a new window and log into Paypal the way you normally do. If the message was actually from Paypal, you can read it on Paypal site.
You should always be wary of any message that asks for your personal information, or messages that refer you to a webpage asking for personal information. If you receive this type of message, especially from a source claiming to be Paypal or eBay, please do not provide the information requested. Paypal will never send unsolicited mass messages asking for your password or personal information, or messages containing executable attachments.
If you've received a message that asks for private information like your password, or directs you to a site that resembles Paypal, please note that the message did not originate with Paypal and may well be an attempt to trick you.
This practice is commonly called "spoofing." Spammers spoof by sending a fake email and then setting up a deceptive website, in an attempt to collect sensitive personal information and/or gain access to your Paypal account.
The ones I received were designed to make you panic and click on their link to supposedly go to Paypal, but instead send you to another site, where thay could ask you to login, thus getting your ID and password. I sent these Scam / Phishing attempts to Paypal. They assured me they WERE bogus.
For more information, go to Paypal's security on their site.
Just be CAREFUL WHAT YOU CLICK ON.
