Sellers should not withhold feedback after buyers pay. If the buyer has paid they have completed their agreement with the seller and the seller should give appropriate positive feedback. Sellers who withhold feedback after the buyer has paid appear to be "holding the cards" in order to be able to give negative feedback to buyers in the event that the seller does not ship quickly, does not ship at all, or simply intends to cheat the buyer (in which case the buyer would give the seller negative feedback.) By withholding immediate feedback, the seller is in effect saying "if you give me negative feedback for my poor service or my cheating you, I will give you (very undeserved) negative feedback." When sellers follow this practice, buyers who do not want negative feedback are forced to leave neutral or positive feedback to unscrupulous sellers (or those who provide VERY POOR SERVICE)and the "feedback system" becomes inaccurate and ineffective. SELLERS SHOULD ALWAYS LEAVE FEEDBACK WHEN THE BUYER HAS PAID--UNLESS THE SELLER KNOWS THEY WILL PROVIDE POOR SERVICE OR PLANS TO CHEAT THE BUYER! As a buyer who pays immediately and wants to protect my feedback rating, I feel I am within my rights to expect immediate positive feedback for fulfilling my obligation to the seller. WAITING FOR ME TO LEAVE FEEDBACK IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. And I should add, for those sellers who do give immediate and positve feedback when I pay and meet my obligation, Kudos to you and congratulations on your dedication to providing good service in delivering the item I have purchased. You have nothing to fear in receiving feedback from the buyer. I should also mention that I have sold a few items on eBay myself. Each time I have given immediate positive feedback upon payment from the buyer.
