Did you know that you MUST get tracking (delivery confirmation) if your buyer uses PayPal?

I have run into many sellers who did not realize this, so I am writing a guide in the hopes of helping others avoid the scam.  If your buyer uses PayPal for payment and you do not get a tracking number, YOU are liable, no questions asked.  This means that if your buyer sees there is no tracking number on the package, they can just get their money back with no questions asked.  This is how it works:  You receive payment from your buyer via PayPal and you ship the item.  But because you clearly stated that TRACKING IS OPTIONAL in your auction, and your buyer did not ask/pay for it, you just ship it Priority or whatever with no delivery confirmation or tracking.  Next thing you know, you get an email from your buyer, stating they never received the package.  You assure them 10 ways that you sent it, even offering to send them a copy of the receipt from the post office.  They decide to go through PayPal to get a refund.  They file a claim and then PayPal asks you for the tracking number to prove you shipped the item.  If you don't have a tracking number to give them, THEY AUTOMATICALLY TAKE THE MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT AND REFUND THE BUYER.  Period.  End of story.  There is NOTHING you can do about it, even if you KNOW the buyer received their package.  This is a fantastic scam for buyers, ESPECIALLY INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS, who know that when you ship airmail (which does not have any tracking) they can just receive the box and file the claim and voila!  They will have their item AND their money back.  What a deal!!  I have lost many international customers because they want to use PayPal, yet they refuse to pay $20 to ship Priority International, which is the cheapest way to ship overseas and still get tracking.  Sorry, but I'm not going to take the chance, no how, no way.  If you are a seller and you accept PayPal, you ABSOLUTELY MUST get tracking to protect yourself.  A postal receipt won't do it, and neither will a picture of you at the post office actually shipping the package!!  Without delivery confirmation or tracking, YOU ARE HOSED.  Beware!!
