Trying to find authentic paranormal items on Ebay can sometimes feel like looking for a needle in a haystack. I have spoken with so many people who have had their hopes dashed while in the search for Djinns, haunted items, spells, readings, and other paranormal items. As both a seller and a collector of paranormal items, I have found many rare and wonderful items on Ebay...but I have also had my fair share of disappointment while viewing offerings that do a great disservice to the metaphysical community. I would like to offer a few brief tips for discerning the hype from the genuine. This guide is geared toward those who have little to no knowledge of metaphysics, but who have an interest in collecting paranormal and/or haunted items.
The following points are just some things I have been thinking of this week. I hope they will be food for thought for the discerning collector.
1. The Djinn Fad: I see so many auctions from people offering Djinns, it's enough to make my head spin. The fact is, a true Djinn is one in a million. I have written other guides on the subject of Djinns, but suffice it to say that the Djinn offerings are enough to discredit the entire metaphysical community all together. It would be impossible for even 5% of all Djinns listed to be authentic. By their very nature, Djinns are scarce and difficult to possesss. Trust me, Djinns have not been repopulating themselves like bunnies in order to be sold on Ebay. Be wary of sellers offering countless Djinn items.
2. Understanding Spellcasting: Please do yourself a favor and check the credentials of anyone offering to cast a spell on your behalf. Choosing someone to cast a spell (or any energetic work) is not something to take lightly. Check the sellers profile and take the time to read their biography and personal thoughts and beliefs. You are entering into an energetic union-however brief-when you allow someone to cast on your behalf. Before allowing anyone to work magic on your behalf, it is in your best interest to feel comfortable with that persons energy. Not anyone can cast a successful spell. To be adept at spellcasting, one must study for years and lifetimes. It is not mere book knowledge that makes one capable of casting, it is a deeper understanding of basic energetic principles and a willingness to HELP others while checking ones own ego at the door. Choose the person you are thinking of working with like you would choose a doctor. Do your research, and if claims look over the top-they probably are. How dedicated is the seller to the magic arts? A few minutes of intuition and critical thinking will reveal the true practitioners versus those looking to make easy money.
3. Haunted Items: Before delving into the arena of collecting haunted items, it would be wise to do some research about haunted items and how they come to be that way. Pick up some books, do some online reading---and then start looking at potential items to add to your collection. After doing some research, you will be armed with knowledge and you should be able to intuit the bogus from the genuine. You will also come to see how truly rare such items are. I always look for detailed descriptions when considering a new purchase of a haunted item. If the seller only offers one paragraph, I usually turn away immediately. I want details, details, details...because any item that is truly haunted always has a story to tell.
The most important thing here is to arm yourself with knowledge. It's easy to get taken advantage of when you are new to the world of metaphysics and magic. BELIEVE in the power of YOUR OWN INTUITION. It's there and available for you to use FOR FREE! :)
IF YOU HAVE FOUND THIS GUIDE INFORMATIVE OR INSIGHTFUL, I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE YOU VOTING "YES" BELOW!
