Paper Piecing patterns are just Shaker Boxes waiting to be created!!!

Depending on the complexity of the pattern. there are two choice in convert it from just a paper piecing to a shaker box:

1) Replace one piece of the pattern with Clear plastic or vellum.  This will give the smooth flow of a shaker box, with the complexity of a paper piecing!  Using the paper piecing pattern or finished product as a guide, cut a foam shape with center removed to fit.  Glue it to a complementary color backing.  Add your sparkles, beads or other shaker materials and glue on the paper piecing top!

2) Create the paper piecing, then cut a window in its design.  This window can go over multiple pieces of the paper piecing.  Cut this window only when the glue has completly dried, otherwise ugly clumping and wrinkling of paper can occur. Then complete the shaker box as usual!
