It is extremely important to understand the dangers of imbibing poppy pod tea. The use of opiates/opioids, in any form and by any means is physically and mentally addictive; this to include everything from poppy seed tea to grade A heroin. These appear in unknown quantities per pod and, therefore, per dose of tea and the dosages are far too varied to receive the same amounts of each alkaloid, each time. Use of opiates during pregnancy, or even consummation, can prove dangerous for an unborn foetus. Ask yourself this also, can you trust the word of your seller that the pods you buy have not been sprayed? Some insecticides and chemical fertilizers are poisonous to man, they can and will destroy the human system. Some will do it quicker than others but they will all do it eventually. They do not wash off or boil out. Do not underestimate the dangers of poppy tea as an extremely addictive and potentially life-threatening high, it can be far harder than the more commonly recognised addictions to get away from.  If this is your reason for buying dried poppy pods, THINK. Poppy tea can lead to dependence, methadone clinics and a stigmatic medical record containing the words 'opiate addiction' which will follow you around for life.
