Here are some basic definitions for pant measurements.
inseam - the inseam is used for determining the length of the pants & is measure from the seam at the crotch to the bottom of the leg seam... measure from the crotch seam to the leg bottom
rise - the rise is used to sdetermine where the pants sit (waist or hip, normal or low rise)... this is measured fron the pants top in front (waist above the zipper) to the crotch seam... the lower the measurement, the lower the pants sit on the body. In general, less than 4" is called ultra-low-rise, 4-7" is low-rise, 7-10" is mid-rise & 10-12" is normal rise
leg cut - this is used to determine how wide the leg bottoms are... from the most narrow leg (straight leg) to the widest (flare or bellbottom)... the boot cut may be the most common, where the leg bottom is slightly wider than the leg width.
Just some real basics, thanks for reading !
