Pantech PG-2800 - Pantech has Finger Recognition
Pantech Group is South Korea's second-largest cell phone company, known for innovation and design in many of their unique products. They have just introduced the Pantech PG-2800 cell phone, which recognizes "finger writing." With this feature, you can write text messages, notes, or search the loaded dictionary by drawing characters on the keypad with your finger.
This feature is said to be especially helpful for those who don't like writing with a stylus or who simply prefer to streamline their note taking. The exterior of the phone is criticized as being dull, but the interior of the phone is receiving lots of praise for its unique design. As well, the finger writing recognition function is said to make inputting international characters like those in Chinese and Russian much easier.
The PG-2800 features a two-inch 260K color display with a 1.3 megapixel digital camera inside. It also has an MP3 player to listen to music tunes and an external memory card for importing and exporting digital media files. It is a world band phone with multiple global capabilities, so it can be used throughout much of the world.
This phone is expected to boost sales in Russia and Asia. Pantech expects to introduce 15 additional models during this year alone, capitalizing on their success throughout this region. Soon, Pantech hopes to go worldwide with their sales, estimating the sale of 27 million units worldwide by year's end.
