One of the best FTA Receivers in the market today (as I prefer) is the Pansat 3500SD. Reasons??? Many...

1. It has a compact design above the others in terms of dimension and weight. (Coolsat is heavier, that's 1 of the reasons to be cheaper).

2. Friendly menus and web support, forums for doubts are extremelly good.

3. Programming??? A piece of cake the integrated removable SD Card will allow you to use your PC and a card reader to download the programming to it easier than others. You see the 3500SD comes with a 128MB SD Card. For some receivers like Coolsat you have to buy a yellow ROM card. Want to know the price for the card??? With S&H flows between $75.00 to $125.00. Again that's why it's cheaper than Pansat.

4. A great advantage over their ancestors (2500 & 2700) is that in case of blacking out, the Pansat 3500SD comes with the JTAG Connector already built on the Main Board of the receiver. In the old versions it has to be soldered and then JTAG.

5. Finally the Pansat 3500SD can decode MP3, so you can copy your favorite songs or tunes and play them on it and take advantage of your Home Theater to blast your neighbors ears!!!
