Do you have a desire to paint? Has it always been something you wanted to try? If you have little time and patience and want to use it wisely and learn quickly, try methods by "Donna Dewberry" or "Bob Ross" or "Gary Jenkins". Donna will teach you color blending and stroke technique for just about anything. Flowers, animals, borders, etc. Bob is a landscape painter, trees, mountains, waterfalls, his brushes vary in size from a thin liner to a 3 inch you'd use to refinish a piece of furniture. He had an incredible talent for blending that will entice you to jump in and try it.
Gary started as a floral painter but does everything. His floral paintings are breathtaking. My favorite story about Gary; He sold at street fairs and flea markets to make some extra cash. A lady checking out his artwork said: 'That flower does not come in that color'. Gary: 'I know, I painted it and I can use any color I like'. He's right.
You can always start on the small canvas boards from 5 x 8 to 8 x 10. I've even painted on sweatshirts and tablecloths. Sitting on the couch and watching these artists is very calming. When you do it yourself it's exciting. You don't have to invest a lot of money, try it first. Oils and acrylics have the brightest most vivid colors. Oils need thinner to clean up, which comes in odorless now, soap and water for acrylics. Some draw on the canvas first then paint to get a sense of spacing. Try video's too. If your painting a flower in your kitchen, or a portrait of your favorite Dog or Cat, it's something you'll always have. Check out your local art store or use ebays search for painting for beginners. Best of Luck to you!
You will truly enjoy it and you can sell your artwork as well! If you don't try, you'll never know. If you do try, You won't be disappointed.
