If you are gonna do your own pvc plumbing, Make sure to use primer (purple is best). Dont go for the primer/glue combos. Priming sets the pvc up to accept the glue. Once set, the glue will not deteriorate and leave you with a wattery mess. Trust me on this. Plus, most codes require you to have at least 1" of primer showing past the joint. That is for easy inspection. If you are worried how pretty it looks, then don't put your pipes where they can be seen. Remember, no one is going to comment on how pretty your plumbing job is.
