Naughty and Nice Lingerie

Buying lingerie for your lover can be one of the most romantic things you can do. It's an intimate gift which can really show you care and understand your lover.  It can also show you have put the effort into really thinking about the other.

It's also one of the most stressful and dangerous gifts you can buy so don't rush in to it! :)

Get it right and there are some major bonus points to be earned here. You may even get to "unwrap" your present later...

Get it wrong however, and you will almost certainly live to regret it! 

Before you even think about buying lingerie, make sure you avoid the following pitfalls and take heed of the helpful lingerie buying advice I provide here. A few minutes reading can save you hours of grief.

Common Lingerie Buying Mistakes

The most important things to remember when buying lingerie as a present are these:

1) It's NOT for You!

Remember who you are buying lingerie for and tailor your choice to this. If you buy something in a style your lover doesn't usually wear, then chances are, you will have gotten it wrong. If you buy it in a color or design your lover doesn't usually wear, then again, you've probably got it wrong. Buying something YOU like without ANY consideration of your lover, and chances are you'll get it wrong!

The Golden Rule - You are buying lingerie for your lover...and NOT for yourself!

Think of the message you are sending. Do you want your gift to say "You're special and I love you" or "Love? I just wanna *#%! you!"  Sometimes, you want to say (or hear) both! Yes, those models look great in the skimpy, slutty lingerie and no doubt you'd love to see your lover in the same.  Just be sure your lover wants to convey the same message. 

Opting for the leather, PVC, crotchless, or peephole lingerie may offend your lover.  You may want to go for something silky or lacey (at least for the first time) and you are more likely to be on the right lines.   This may open up the lines of communication and she may freely give you a lot more information to work with for the next time you want to buy a gift.  However, if your lover is just as adventurous as you are in the bedroom, and you are sure about it, then, by all means, endulge!

2) Do Your Research

The second biggest mistake is going into a lingerie store blind. DO NOT try to guess your lover's size, favorite style or for that matter, try to guess anything else. You may fail miserably. When you walk into a lingerie store prepare to be hit by a dizzying array of numbers and letters associated with an even more confusing selection of wierd and wonderful products which to the untrained eye, all look the same but to her, are very different. 

Think push-up, plunge, balcony, gel filled, water filled, padded, unpadded, underwired, seamless, backless, boneless, strapless, open cup...with different cup sizes from A to JJ and not forgetting the numbers, different materials and designs...and that's just the bras!  I have set up other guides, specifically the terms to lingerie, to help elaborate what certain words mean and how they affect lingerie design and such.  But don't worry, I am always here to help you.  All you have to do is ask!

Basically, do your research first before you hit the high street or go shopping online and you've got a vastly better chance of getting it right. My advice is to go through your lover's lingerie drawer.  See what styles your lover normally wears, jot the sizes and brands down...especially in an item you seem to see your lover wear often and that appears to be new...that is probably your best indicator of size and style. The very WORST thing you can do is buy something in the size she was before your lover went up a size or two!  Knowledge is power people! 

While you are rummaging around through your lover's undies, make a note of the colors and styles your lover is fond of. Is there a particular color your lover is particularly fond of? Does your lover enjoy patterns or plain-solid styles? Does your lover go for comfort or sex appeal? These are important things to note if you are going to buy something your lover will like rather than something which gets shoved to the back of the drawer.

3) Items To Avoid

Now you know your lover's size, the colors and styles your lover enjoys, there's a few more pitfalls to avoid:

Avoid anything marked as "Control", "Reducing", etc. These are to suck in bellies and hide excess weight...unless you really want to send the message "suck it in fatty" you'd probably be best avoiding these!

Gel filled, water filled and cleavage enhancing bras...again, be careful what you might be perceived as hinting at with these.

No one knows your lover better than you...if you are open with one another and enjoy saying "I Love You" and/or "I want you!  Lets Have Fun!", then you have an open playing field for buying lingerie.  Just be aware of where you both are in the relationship, be aware of the few pointers mentioned above, and you will surely make your lover's day when they opens their special gift to make tonight that special night.  If you are daring enough to buy it, then buy right!  There is lingerie for everyone and every mood, especially when your Naughty and Nice!
