EBAY PSP SCAMS
Introduction
Ebay is a world full of great deals and hard to find items - it is also a Mecca of scams and 15 old kids looking to seperate you from your cold hard cash. They seem to propogate the same 3 or 4 scams. They might change the wording or the pictures they use, but the end result for them is the same - online theft. Lets go over the the most popular scams out there.Currently there are about 22,000 hits on eBay if you are to keyword search "PSP"; if even 1% of those auctions are scams, you are talking about 220 auctions looking to rip you off in one form or another - we both know that the scam auctions are a lot higher than 1%. To that end, I think it is well worth the couple minutes it taked to educate yourself on how to buy a PSP on eBay.
Freedom of Information Act
The most obvious of the scam PSP auctions are those sellers looking to sell you information on how to obtain a PSP. That sounds straight froward enough but between the title, the description, and the pics, you don't know if you are bidding on the item or a eBook on how to get wrapped up in a pyramid sceme that promises a free PSP if you jump through enough hoops. NEVER, and I mean never get involved in one of these scenerios. They are all set up to get you to spend money, as opposed to save money. Remember, if you are asked to do ANYTHING in order to qualify for a free, or deeply discounted PSP vis some auction routed through eBay DO-NOT-DO-IT. This includes the ridiculous Wholesale lists...they are garbage. And unless you want to apply with a TAX ID, with submissions of pictures of your physical store front, you are not going to qualify for wholesale prices on the PSP - period. How To download PSP Games/Movies for Free
Tell ya what, most eBay sellers charge you $3.00 to give the following information to you: www.bittorrent.com. There is where you can download the games/movies for free. This is a perfect example of a very simple nugget of information that eBay sellers try to make sound like the second coming of Christ, only for you to discover they B.S. you with 3 pages of worthless information to give you a website at the end...so there is your website. Just saved you $3.00, and probably a lot more in game costs.Exclusive: PSP For Under $5.00
This is the actual title of one auction I came arcoss. Guess what they are selling you. The secrets to cheat an online Gaming Casino out of money on a [Virtual] Roulette Table. That's right, the seller substitues the title of the auction with several different highly sought-after items on eBay, and in essence is stating, try this trick to scam an online casino out of enough money to buy yourself a PSP. I tested it, it works, if you do it exactly right, and have no job, no relationship with a member of the opposite sex, no external demands on your time, and credit card. You litrerally need to work at it for about 8-10 at a time in order to get about $100.00. It tells you to perform this 'trick' for several hours, take break and go back to it or specific time frames. Are you serious? And if you do not do it perfectly, you risk losing a lot of your own money...one slip of the finger type thing...my point, hardly worth it.I just Bought a Box?
Last but not least, there are sellers out there that try to trick you into buying the PSP box. The last one I had seen look the poor buyer for about $190.00. The auction stated something like this" "Included in the box is the manuals, adpaters, original packaging, etc". Guess what the high bidder gets, according to their feedback? The PSP Box...empty, well unless you include the aforementioned items. The seller stated they only accepted Money Orders so there would be no Paypal recourse. Be warned...read well.I suppose the thrust of this book is tell show by example that it is every important to read these auctions, and to never, and I mean never buy into any scenerio that has you getting wrapped up in tricking a casino out of their money, getting wrapped up in a pyramid scheme, or wasting money on ANY eBook that tells you how to save a ton of money on games or movies for a PSP.
