The PS2, particularly the slimline, is a nice cheap alternative console to own. Given the wealth of titles available for the PS2, the lack of solid emulator resources to play your PS2 titles (barring a stellar computer setup), and the price of the console (~50-100 USD) ... it's not a bad investment to grab a PS2. When it comes to making this option portable however, it's a tad more confusing.
A search here on eBay for a portable monitor will drop a deluge of Intec monitors. While it's easy to find, it's also easy to say it's pretty small (~5 inches) and a waste of cash. There are a few versions of the Intec monitor; none are very good. Pelican offers a screen as well. It's larger, but equally useless. Should you do a bit of searching, you'll come to the swift realization that the ONLY option is the Joytech 8" LCD monitor for the Slim. A few issues arise: even on eBay, (1) this is a difficult beast to find; (2) it's no longer in production; (3) the only stores to stock it now all are overseas in Europe; (4) the UK outlets refuse to ship overseas ... you get the point.
In short, you have basically two good options: (1) find someone in the US willing to sell it on eBay or otherwise; (2) ship it from France (or any other stores in any country that doesn't have such qualms about shipping things overseas).
