For years, boater and Fishermen have used polarized sunglasses to reduce glare bothat bounces off of the water. In the past few years, however, the benefits of polarized lenses have been realized by drivers and all sunglass wearers .
How it works
A regular clear lens is taken and heated and a polarized filter is smooshed on it. the filter that is added to the regular clear lens is dark and comes in a few different colors.
The filters that are added to the clear lens are placed vertically so that horizontal glare is removed. this horizontally polarized light is blocked by the vertically oriented dangerous and annoying glare.
for example when we look at the ocean and the sun hits the water at a certain angle the glare could be blinding with polarized lenses all of the GLARE IS REMOVED
there are some limitations to the use of polarized lenses , because the vertical polarizing stripes reduce the amount of light entering the eye , some drivers that have polarized sunglasses lenses can cause distortions in liquid crystal displays (lcd) . On board clock and other instruments in the car like navigation may be unreadable but with all of that the benefits out way the negatives
