PlayStation 3
NOT ALL PS3s CAN PLAY YOUR OLD PS1 or PS2 GAMES!
If you are wanting to replace your older PlayStation 1 or PlayStation 2 systems with a PlayStation 3 you should know a couple of things. First of all there are 3 different systems out there right now, and you should be carefull that you are getting what you really want.
The newly released 40GB PS3 is NOT compatible with old PS1 or PS2 Games!
Sony made the decision to release a scaled down version of their new PlayStation 3 just before Christmas 2007. The purpose of the scaled down version is to give consumers a more affordable option for the PS3. You still have a great gaming system with graphics and control that will blow your mind, and you still have DVD and BlueRay DVD playability. The 40GB PS3 is for someone who is not interested in playing their old PS1/PS2 games, is keeping their old system as well or someone who is coming new to PlayStation3.
If you want to play your old PS1/PS2 games you want to look for a 60GB or the 80GB versions of the PlayStation 3. The 60GB version is no longer being produced but many places still have them at a great price. The 80GB version gives you more game memory and a faster game response.
