Many buyer's ask me,

Why do I have to have a confirmed address.

 I am verified with e-bay,

I have been a member for 4 or so years.

The answer is simple. If a buyer later claims that he or she did not get the item, or did not order the item, the transaction can be claimed back. A claim back or charge back is when pay pal will take the money back out of your account, If you no longer have the funds in your pay pal account they will charge your bank account or credit card. This can happen within 45 days of the purchase. Or even up to 4 months under certian circumstances.

If the account is a confirmed address, and you have tracking info, plus if over $250 you have a signature, the seller is protected by pay pal and will not get a charge back. Put yourself in the sellers shoes, you sell an item for a large sum of money, pay all the e-bay costs, pay the shipping costs, Then to be told a few weeks later, by pay pal that they are taking your money back. There is nothing you can do, you sent the item to some address, probably in another State.

Pay Pal will protect the seller if the address is Confirmed. And as a Buyer if the item does not turn up, Pay pal will investigate, and you could get a refund.

Many sellers have been caught out by buyers, they get tempted to sell the item, Normally due to the fact the winning bidder has bid to a good high price. Of course the buyer has, he has no intention of paying, he will claim, the item never arrived or someone else got hold of his details.

Its frustrating if you are a buyer and the seller insists you get your account address confirmed, But its So simple to get verified & confirmed, This will protect you and the seller. Its a shame that a few rotten eggs spoil it for everyone else.

Go to your pay pal account main page, on the side you will see how to get verified. This stops all sorts of scams, Fake buyers, and fraud.
