Having used this camera, and having bought two of them, I think I can safely say that there are some traps out there when bidding on these cameras. First of all there are alot of sellers on EBAY, mainly based in BROOKLYN, who use EBAY to sell GRAY MARKET cameras. DO NOT buy one of these cameras from any BUY IT NOW dealers based in Brooklyn or New York. There is a great website which shows actual pictures of the storefronts of these scam artists. Do a google search for "Brooklyn Storefronts".  You'll see dilapidated buildings, empty buildings, convenience stores, parking lots. Do you know who you're buying that movie camera from?

Now, if you search the web via  a link like "Shopzilla" or "Bizrate" for the AG DVX 100A, you'll get a list of sellers from the NY area. Go to their websites. Note the store hours, but never any map of the locations? Note these "different" web sites have the same store hours? BIG WARNING SIGN! Some of the same scammers use Ebay to sell their gray market goods.

Never buy a PANASONIC AGDVX100/100A or 100B from sellers who keep cancelling their listings. DO NOT BUY these cameras from people who have difficulty using the English language, because they are usually part of these foreign gray market camera selling rings. DO NOT by from sellers who list a stock photo, or a single photo. NEVER BUY one of these cameras is the seller refuses to show a picture of the HOURS meter. One other hint: How can anyone sell this camera for that unbelievably low price? If the price is less than $1000, you've got issues.

Also check out several auctions ad note the number of bidders with zero ratings. These are usually the same scam artists who bid on these items hoping to get them cheap, so they can resell them. You'll note whenever a zero bidder "wins" these auctions, they never pay and the seller relists the camera. It is also an attempt to get the online id's of bidders who are bidding on these expensive cameras.

Only buy the cameras from people who have good feedback, a traceable history, and make sure they accept PAYPAL. Never pay for these cameras via credit card, wire or any other method.

Remember: The Panasonic AGDVX100 series is one of the most sought after items on EBAY. Look for low hours and an honest seller.

GOOD LUCK!
