Are you looking for a fascinating view of politics with a funny side?
P.J. O'Rourke is an excellent political satirist. He provides a fresh, witty perspective on all manner of topics. While he probably would be best classified as a right-winger, neither side of the aisle is safe from his pen.

My favorites of his books are:
- Eat the Rich - an examination of the economies of different nations. One of the most delightful, funny, and interesting books every composed about economics. It even beats Freakonomics in my opinion.
- Parliament of Whores - a great introduction to American government. Favorite quote: 'Giving Money and Power to Government is like giving Whiskey and Car Keys to Teenage Boys'.
- Modern Manners - definititely deserves a place in every modern home, along with Emily Post and Miss Manners. Reminiscent of Ambrose Bierce's diabolic lexicon in its sharp, witty, and insightful social commentary.</li>
- All the Trouble in the World - addresses a variety of problems around the world - disease, saving the rainforest, overpopulation, and the like.
- Age and Guile beat Youth, Innocence, and a Bad Haircut - this semi-autobiographical collection of articles and essays are far less political and more personal and social in nature. Humorous and interesting, but ultimately less relevant than some of his other books.
