The Definition of OUTSIDER Art is a real touchy subject. Some Artists feel they want nothing to do with the term, and refused to consider themselves Outsider. Many first time art buyers hear the term "Outsider Art" and think that the art may be inferior, or not up to Par.
Myself as a Outsider Artist I would like to but up my own definition of Outsider Art.

-A Outsider Artist is genuinely self taught.
-The term was originally for Paintings and other art created in asylums for the mentally ill.
-Artist with little or no main stream or gallery representation, who will never be discovered or if they are , only after there death.
-REAL outsider art genuinely deals with controversial issues or present everyday issues in a controversial way.

Work in progress. Feel free to add to my definition.
