I just ran into a real problem with the ebay system. My seller preferences include the box checked that "prevents" buyers from outside the U.S. from bidding. Or so it says. I have the box checked, it shows up on every listing already as i do it. I also have it written out in the listing body and other instructions section.
So needless to say I was shocked to see that a buyer from outside the U.S. had bid, won, and paid for an auction. The first thing I did was check all the ebay settings, and they still showed U.S. only. The ebay system had let him bid, buy, gave him the shipping amount, and pay with paypal. So next I emailed ebay, and of course got a canned response that said I should check the box that says U.S. only. I emailed back it was checked and I got a canned response that I could cancel the bid and not sell the item. I wrote back what if the guy gives me negative feedback, and with ebay's new policy, I, as a seller am not allowed to leave him negative feedback. Well of course this has gone on to nowhere. So be aware that ebay's safety system does not work. If you sell items that are prohibited by U.S. law from being shipped outside the U.S. as I do, you may be in for some negative feedback.
Unfortunatly I don't have any answer to this problem, but at least I have made you aware of the possible problems. I would advise emailing ebay relentlessly, if enough people do this maybe the problem will be fixed.
WELL I AM AMAZED, THIS HAS HAPPENED AGAIN, A BLOCKED BIDDER WON ANOTHER AUCTION AND EBAY WON'T DO SQUAT ABOUT IT!!!
