Isak Dinesen was a Dane baroness, in fact, a woman named Karon Von Blixson, who ran the largest coffee farm in Africa at the time. She went on to write other great selections such as Last Tales, Winter's Tales and Shadows on the Grass, which were all published many years following Africa.
