Easy, Ottoman notables used to treasure these notes and whenever they had enough, they would convert their excess coins into jewlrey for their women.. So a notable's wife or a Pasha's wife normally went out in full gold coin emblazoned attires, the more the wife wore, the richer the notable...

Peirced gold coins do not sell lower that normal ones, both of them are hard to find and sought after..
