The following is a check list you should purchase before going to your first quilting lesson at a quilt shop. Now don't take this next statement wrong but..., the quilt shops do not make any money on the class you signed up for. They make thier money on the over-priced supplies they sell to you. Go to your local large craft store or fabric store, if you can , wait until you get a coupon for 40% off. You will find all of the basic " hardware " supplies at the large chain stores, for about 30 % less.
