Ingredients needed:
- 1 Chopped clove of garlic
- 4 tsp. Chamomile flowers
- 1 tsp. Wood ash (Oak prefered)
- 2 tsp. Any type of mint (I advice using catmint [catnip or nepeta cataria] because it also repels ants)
Materials Needed:
- Kitchen stove or burner and a pot for boiling water
- 1 qt. plastic or glass container (glass prefered)
- Wire colander (you can use a funnel with a paper towel or coffee filter)
- Paper towel or coffee filter
- Hand sprayer bottle
Recipe is as followed:
Mix ingredients together in a 1 qt. container. Pour 1 qt. of sub-boiling water into the container over the mixture. Let the mixture steep overnight. The next day strain out the liquid from the mixture with a wire colander into another container. You can add a paper towel or coffee filter to the colander and strain again if necessary. Discard solid matter left over from straining. After that you can pour the liquid into any hand sprayer bottle for use. Spray surface of soil thoroughly after planting seeds. For seedlings, apply every 2-3 days untill well established. Spray foliage of indoor/outdoor adult plants weekly for best results. Also works well as a natural insecticide. Feel free to experiment with this solution.
