A wireless keyboard and mouse is a great accessory to buy for your computer. You can find a variety of sets that are simple to hook up and are affordable to buy. I have bought numerous sets and I find that Logitech fits best for my needs. The first set that I ever bought was Micro Inovations and it was the cheapest set but I had so many problems with it. The numbers and letters on the keyboard would double click constantly and was very annoying, this happened after owning the set for 2 weeks and I still had the box and returned it for another one and had the same problems but threw the box out so I could not return it and I was out dollars. Finally I opted for a Microsoft set which I knew was really good quality but when I got it home it was too bulky. It did not fit very well as the other keyboards on my computer desk and the mouse was HUGE and uncomfortable to use. I traded it in for the last set that Walmart had which was a Logitech brand which looks similar to the MI brand (cost only $5 more) and I have had this same wireless mouse and keyboard for a year now with no problems. The keyboard has features that my regular wired mouse did not have and fits perfectly with my computer, no cords. Another thing which made a HUGE difference to me is that the setup with this is easier than with the MI brand or the Microsoft brand.. This is plug and go, no need to even read the manual and it will come with a set up cd but I did not even use this cd until after I had the keyboard and mouse plugged in and so it is completely optional.

Here is a price list of what I paid for my wireless keyboard and mouse sets in the past. Micro Inovations wireless keyboard and mouse was $25 (horrible), Microsoft $65, Logitech $30. This is the only three sets that Walmart carry but you can find a few other brands at some electronic stores. I have a Dell computer and Dell also makes wireless keyboard and mouse sets and they charge $75 for it and you will have to order it online or contact them directly. I highly recommend giving the Logitech brand a try because I have been pleasantly satisfied with all aspects as far as style, quality, price and ease of set up. Before when I had the original Dell mouse and keyboard I hated the wires becauase when I would go to get off of my computer the wires would get in the way and the mouse would fall to the floor or sling accross the room. Also when using the mouse the wires would trapped between something on the floor sometimes and when trying to point and click I would have to move the wires off of the ground. I was skeptical in buying a wireless set for a long time because I was afraid about how to set it up and I was also skeptical in the quality of the wireless set compared to my wired set. I can honestly say that for the $30 that I spent on the Logitech wireless combo,  there is NO way that I would ever go without it.

There is only one con about all wireless keyboard and mouse sets in general and that is that they use batteries, some will use double A for the keyboard and tripple A for the mouse, vise versa or the same for each but it depends which brand that you get. The Logitech set that I bought came with batteries and the keyboard hardly ever uses batteries but the mouse uses batteries about every two weeks, depending on how often you use the computer. I own rechargable batteries (4) and I use two for the mouse when I am letting the other two charge and I trade them out and then let the other two charge. You can purchase tripple A or double A chargers or even combo charges that will charge both at the same time. The Logitech brand keyboard and mouse that I own uses both double A for the mouse and the keyboard and I constantly have them plugged in and charging for when I need batteries. You can buy the battery chargers which include the rechargable batteries at Walmart for only $10-25 depending on which brand, I find that the $10 sets work fine!

Why are some sets more expensive than others?? Well it depends on the brand and also how fast the unit can charge the batteries, some chargers can charge in 5 hours and others can take 10-15 hours but you just have to read the package. There are other factors also, including how long after the battery is charged can it stay inside of your product before having to be recharged, that can also depend on the brand of the battery charger set but that wont make much of a difference. I own about 3 sets and the $10 unit works just fine, it takes a little longer to charge the batteries but it is a good quality and works well. You don't want to buy a set that only contains ONLY 2 double A batteries though because while two batteries are in your mouse you will need the other two to be charging so that when your batteries run out in the mouse you will have 2 more waiting for you to be used. Some charging sets will only contain two batteries inclosed but you can find some that include four or you can always buy two extra battteries if it doesn't have four.

After purchasing the wireless keyboard and mouse set, keep the receipt and the box in case you have to return it for some reason. I threw my box out the same day I bought my Micro Inovations set and after I hooked it up and saw that it worked and I could not return it so I was out of money two weeks later when it broke. I would recommend to keep the box for at least a few weeks to a month because some sets can work fine one minute and then not the next, I can honestly say that the Logitech brand has been the best keyboard and mouse set that I have ever owned and I will continue to buy this brand in the future. You can buy the wireless sets at most electronic computer stores or at Walmart in the computer isle.. Another option is looking on Ebay or online for some great deals. I don't know what I would do without mine!
