It is important to buy what you like. The Heirloom and LTD lines cost quite a bit more than the Casual and Community stainless, but they are very heavy and well made flatware and they are made to last a lifetime.. Some of the designs have a pattern for a lifetime guarantee and you can always get replacements for that pattern. (Oneida will always make replacements for you) The casual flatware is more economical and can be a good choice for everyday use.  Casual flatware is not quite as heavy but it is still well made and you can trust the Oneida name for quality items.

It is important to care for your stainless.  Wash and dry the flatware after use and be careful about acidic based foods and detergent.  (wash lemon off right away) If  you take care of your stainless it will last for a very long time.
