I bought this camera because of the double stabilization and the 5x optical . A little shake and still great pictures. Got lots of self explanatory/sample pictures scene modes, and more. The only complain I got is the LCD screen. It goes blank when taking pictures in sunlight. I read other reviews from different websites, and all of them said the same thing. I did this little adjustments in the menu and this might help in the LCD screen. Here are th steps: Press MENU, then go to > SET UP, then press OK/FUNC, the go all the way down (v) till you reach I [ ] I (the one below pixel mapping), then press OK/FUNC, then go all the way ^ to the top of the + sign, you can stop here and take pictures or you could end the menu by pressing the MENU 3 times). You are set. When taking pictures in sunlight, the LCD screen automatically gets a little dark when not in use for 10 seconds probabaly to save battery. Just press the shutter button (see manual) half way, the LCD screen clears again. Pressing the shutter button fully takes pictures.
Another thing, buy 2 or more extra rechargeable batteries Li-42B (lots in Ebay ). The battery in this camera is small that it could only take around 40 to 50 pictures in one charge. It is better to have extra fully charged batteries if you are planning to take a lot of pictures.
If you are buying the xD picture card, buy the original Olympus Type H (high speed and high capacity) xD Picture card. This is better than the Type M (high capacity). Only $5 difference. There are different brands of Type H xD picture card, but Olympus claims that only their original Olympus brand works on their CD software loaded to your computer to produce a 3D, Panorama, and Art pictures.
Things I do not like: A lot of photo printers does not have xD card slots. Even with the camera's double stabilization, pictures are clear but not as sharp as I thought it would be.
