The DS 2300 produces voice files both in .wma and the popular .dss format.  DSS is the defacto industry standard codec for professional voice recording.  The DSS format accounts for 80% of all professionally produced dictation in N.A.

The DS 2300 is the least expensive model with file edit features and those features are, insert & overwrite.  The ability to file edit is mandatory for efficient dictation.
