Here's some general tips on running your OkyWeb3 MIDI File/MP3 gig player :

* Turn OkyWeb3 on/off
  1. Hold the STOP button for 3 seconds to power up/down

* Update Firmware (OkyWeb Operating System)

We recommend checking for firmware updates every now and then to ensure your device is using the latest operating system.  Firmware updates fix bugs and generally improve the reliability of the device.
  1. Go: TOOLS>Update OkyWeb Operating System and update the firmware to the latest version
  2. Ensure the computer is not disturbed while updating the firmware (takes around 2 minutes) and ensure the screen saver does not activate.

* Defragment the CF card for faster and reliable performance
  1. Go - TOOLS>Optimize Compact Flash and press OK to all prompts, including the warning about possible playlist corruption (it won't).
We recommend using the 'Optimize Compact Flash' function whenever large amounts of files are transferred to the CF or several updated songs are replaced on the CF.  Remember, the CF card is essentially a filing cabinet that stores and organizes your song files.  Optimizing the CF ensures the card remains in the best possible operating condition.  If you still have problems after completing all the above procedures, please contact OkyWeb Customer Service.

* Transferring files

Always use OkYSoft-Pro to transfer song files.  Never copy files direct to the CF using Windows copy/paste as the CF structure will corrupt.  When transferring MP3 files, we recommend using a card reader as it is many times faster than using the USB cable connected to the Okyweb.  Card reader/writers are inexpensive and can be purchased from any computer store. To send files via a card reader do as follows:
  1. Disconnect the USB cable from Okyweb3 to computer
  2. Remove the CF card from Okyweb3 and insert into a card reader
  3. Plug the USB cable of the card writer into a spare USB socket on the computer and wait a moment for the computer to register the device
  4. Open OkySoft-Pro.  The program will recognise the card reader
  5. Select and transfer the songs.
  6. If transferring a large number of songs, follow the steps outlined above (Defragment the CF card for faster and reliable performance) after all files are on the CF

* Footswitch Operation

To set the footswitch to go/pause, make the following setting:

Press the OPTIONS button to display 'General Options'
Press ENTER and use the DOWN button to find 'PEDAL'.  Press ENTER
Press DOWN to find GO/PAUSE
Press ENTER, then EXIT

* Set Play List Auto Play on/off

Thew Play List can be set to pause after each song or to continue playing through the list without waiting for a start command.  This parameter can be used together with the foot switch.
  1. Press OPTION and scroll to GENERAL OPTIONS
  2. Press ENTER
  3. Press the FFWD>> button to select between AUTO (continuous play) and MANUAL (pause between songs)

* Choose chord display language
  1. Press OPTION and press DOWN arrow to MUSIC OPTIONS
  2. Press ENTER and select CHORDS:INTERNAT for English display or CHORDS:ITALIAN for Italian display
