Greetings one and all:

If you have a passion for collecting autographs like I do (Especially Star Wars), then this guide is for you. I'll explore the major performers in the original trilogy and let you know where is the best place to find their autographs. I'll also let you know which ones sign by mail. Each performer will be listed in the movie where they first appeared.

If I have forgotten a performer that was in any of the original films (A New Hope, Empire Stikres Back, Return of The Jedi), please let me know and I will update the guide (i'll be more inclined to do it people find this guide helpful :) ). Unfortuantely, I cannot post addressed to contact the stars since that's agains E-bay rules, but I figure you all are clever enough to determine where to find that information. I've also mentions Topps a fair amount in my guide. That's because they produced a lot of Star Wars autographs and inserted them as chase cards in a few of their sets. You can find a lot of them on E-bay and they are great refernce tools.

A NEW HOPE

Aunt Beru Lars (Shelagh Fraser) [Deceased] - Pretty hard autograph to come by. Best bet is to look at reuptable autograph delaers.
Topps Sets: None.
 
Biggs Darklighter (Garrick Hagon) - Has been known to sign through the mail.
Topps Sets: Evolution II

C-3P0 (Anthony Daniels) - Mr. Daniels does not sign through the mail. On his official website, Mr. Daniels posted images of fake autographs (a real hoot to read).
Topps Sets: Heritage, Evolution.

Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) - Mr. Mayhew has been known to occasionally sign through the mail. You can also purchase autographs from his official website.

Darth Vader (In Suit - David Prowse) - Mr. Prowse only signs at official functions. You can purchse personalized autograph from his official website.
Topps Sets: None

Darth Vader (Voice - James Earl Jones) - Mr. Jones has a good record of signing by mail. He is also a very gracious and plesant man to meet. Very respectful of his fans.

Gold Leader (Angus McInnis) - No information, but autographs have been spotted in the wild... so to speak.
Topps Sets: None

Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) [Deceased] - A great actor who is sorely missed. Topps did issue an autograph via their Evolution set (Cut from other sources and pasted on a card) .

Greedo (Marie de'Aragon) - Ms. de'Aragon can be contacted via her website in regards to autographs.
Topps Sets: Evolution II

Greedo (Paul Blake) - Only place I have see a good example of this signature is in the Topps Evolution set.

Han Solo (Harrison Ford) - Mr. Ford does not sign through the mail. Also, be wary as there are many fake Harrison Ford autographs out there.

Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) - Mr. Hamill stopped signing things through the mail. He does sign in person and it is best to be aware that this signature is faked very often.

Obi Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness) [Deceased] - Using the same method for Mr. Cushion, Topps has produced a limitted number of "cut and paste" autograph cards.

Princess Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) - There is some debate if Ms. Fisher signs through the mail. Many have gotten a response and an autograph, but some say it is a ghost signature. Still, it cannot hurt to try.

R2-D2 (Kenny Baker) - Mr. Baker does sign things through the mail and autograph photos are available from his website for a fee.

Red Leader (Drewe Henley) - No information on this one.
Topps Sets: None

Uncle Owen Lars (Phil Brown) [Deceased] - Mr. Brown attend many conventions and was very gracious to his fans.

EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

Admiral Ozzel (Michael Sheard) [Deceased] - Mr. Sheard loved the fans and loved the conventions. Read many, many nice stories and experiences people had with Mr. Sheard.

Boba Fett (Jeremy Bulloch) - Mr. Bulloch is deeply appreciative of his fans and a joy to meet. He is know to sign items through the mail and you can also purchase a personalied autograph photo from his website.

Captain Needa (Michael Culver) - Reported successes in autographs through the mail.

Captain/Admiral Piett (Kenneth Colley) - Several people have recieved autographs via the mail from Mr. Colley.

General Veers (Julian Glover) - Very plesant person. Signs through the mail and has a recommarkable body of work.

Lando Calrissean (Billy Dee Williams) - Unknown if Mr. Williams signs through the mail. He does some very nice paintings (which can be viewed if your check out his website).

Lobot (John Hollis) - There has been the odd report that Mr. Hollis signs through the mail.

Yoda (Frank Oz) - Mr. Oz has signed things though the mail.

Return Of The Jedi

Emporer Palpentine (Ian McDiarmid) - It is unkown if Mr. McDiarmid signs through the mail.

Mon Mothma (Caroline Blakiston) - It has been reported that Ms. Blakiston has signed though the mail.

Oola (Femi Taylor) - Ms. Taylor has done quite a few conventions and it is said that she signs through the mail.

Voice of Bib Fortuna and Admiral Ackbar (Erik Bauersfeld) - Mr. Bauersfeld does sign through the mail and a few people have reported getting some pretty dang funny things written on their photos.

Wicket the Ewok (Warwick Davis) - Mr. Davis has been known to sign through the mail. He has attends conventions as well as the Disney Celebration Weekends.
