ORECK XL Upright Vacuum
The Oreck upright is the worlds top selling vacuum, It is used in most major Hotels around the world and here in the states it is used by most of the top cleaning companies such as The US Giant, Molly Maid, or smaller maid companies such as Merry Maids.
The reason is simple, Its the lightest and one of the quietest machines on the market.
If you look at all the various models its easy to get lost, they currently have 17 upright models such as the Classic, Deluxe, Ultra, XL21 Titanium, Commercial XL2100, Signature XL, and even an Oreck XL with a radio in the handle with earphones.
The XL is short for extended life. So all Oreck vacuums, air cleaners and Irons are called Oreck XL.
The company is still owned by 83 yr old David Oreck. David Oreck formed the Oreck Corporation in 1963.
The upright XL is crude in design and very simple, if you take the base plate off you will find a small motor the size of a baseball, a roller brush and small rubber belt. That's it, but because it’s so simple that's the beauty of the Oreck. There is not much to go wrong. Most have the same small motor, The Commercial has a tougher motor and the XL21 is different, but all follow the same principle.
Which vacuum is best?
The Xl21 Titanium is the Rolls Royce in the Oreck range but at a price of approx $749 it should be. It has the best filtration of ANY vacuum cleaner on the market.
It will clean your air as it cleans your floors. But the overall cleaning is no better than those listed below.
The Ultra, classic and Deluxe are all very similar. The Commercial also has the same size brush head and bag and can also take the Hypo-Allergenic bags, but with the longer heavy duty cable its gives the others a run for the money, It has no fancy, light, Radio and only comes in Blue for the top model or Red or the slightly lower commercial model, It has to be the best value for money, After all you only need it to vacuum the floors not take it down the street.
Parts.
As the vacuum is built here in the U.S you can replace every item on the vacuum. So it will last you for the rest of your life. Belts, motors, bags, wheels, handle cables, fan and even the body can be supplied to replace broken or damaged parts. This is the ONLY vacuum in the world to offer this, and as the models do not change its easy to offer this.
Other vacuum,
Eureka, Dyson, Bissell, Sharp, Hoover, Panasonic, Sanitaire, Kenmore Electrolux, Kirby and Windsor are all competing in the same market and are loosing ground fast. They all make good vacuums, but are not practical; The Kirby weighs in at a whopping 21.5 pound. That's over 13 pound heaver than Oreck, You need arms like Mr Universe to carry this around your home. The Dyson is not much better at 19 pound. Panasonic tend to fall to bits due to the plastic, made in China construction. Dyson has the same problem and is made in Malaysia. Kenmore make a good vacuum, but the constant changing of models, make parts hard to locate and the bags are high priced.
I hope this helps, Yes I sell Oreck on e-bay.
QUICK TIP Place a dryer sheet, such as a bounce sheet in the bags where your vacuum bags goes, this will make the room smell fresh while you vacuum.
