Access the Menu
Select Settings (the wrench)
Scroll way down and select Call Settings.
Select Automatic Volume Control - Set it to OFF
You can now manually adjust the volume during calls by pressing the right (decreases volume) or left (increases volume) "selection" keys on the silver ring.
If set to "on", the phone automatically adjusts the speaker volume according to the background noise - quiet background, low speaker volume.
This phone is SWEET!
