The Nikon ML-L3 remote control works great for the Nikon D70, D70s and D50 dSLRs. The remotely triggers the shutter via infrared and there are no cables to worry about. It is totally wireless. Packaged together with a nice little nylon sheath, it is easy enough and light enough to carry around. Being an original Nikon accessory, it works flawlessly and works the way it should. I feel that this is a "must-have" for anyone with a Nikon D70/D70s/D50 since there will be cases where you will need to trigger the shutter in a "handsfree" situation to avoid camera shake. Examples include, macro photography, taking photos of the moon and stars, night photography, taking silly pictures of yourself and your friends, etc
