This camera is great! It has all the functions I need and is lightweight yet robust.
One good point is that it uses SD cards instead of CF cards. SD cards are much smaller and generally faster too! However there are many many slow or slower cards out there - these can be used with no problem but expect LONG.... write times. Not suitable for fast paced activities. But on vacation this does not matter. I bring ALL my SD cards with me, fast & slow. Then I don't have to worry about running out of memory.
The battery lasts forever too. Hundreds of shots even when using the built in flash.
One thing I don't like is the supplied strap. This is too big and thick for such a lightweight camera. I use a thinner and lighter strap which wraps easily round my hand when not hanging off my neck.
One niggle is that my Tokina lens does not work with it at all - ZIP.... If you have non-nikon brand lenses do test that they work first.
