Nike Air Max 97 - the Original Nike Air Max 1997
The Nike Air Max 97 was released in the fall of 1997 as a forebearer of the wildly popular Nike Air Max series and especially the Nike Air Max 95 Line . This was the first Nike shoe to have the Air Max unit go all the way across the shoe.
The
Nike Air Max 97 has a mesh upper panel with a 3m reflective series of
stripes. The whole shoe has a reflecting effect which makes it
really stand out - especially for the basic silver and white
colorway. This Nike Air Max 97 is considered by Nike to be a pure
running shoe - but it has morphed into a classic fashion sneaker. There
is an air bubble that wraps along the base of the shoe on both sides
and has a two air bubble on the back of the sneaker. On the original
silver colorway, the red swoosh is quite striking and appears in the
mesh panel on the shoes mid-section.
The shoe has been re-released in many different colors - mainly in Europe where they still remain very popular. Popular Nike Air Max 97 colorways are:
silver / white / red
black / red
silver / pink
khaki / brown
navy blue / orange
Note: beware of over-strenuous use which can pop the full air bubble
