Nike Air Max 95 / Nike Air Max 1995: The Best Nikes of All Time

If you've read my Guide to the Best Nikes, you are aware that: 1) I'm obsessed with Nikes and 2) I've titled the Nike Air Max 95 as the greatest sneaker of all time. This came after some deliberation - after all, there are so many great Nikes - from the Jordans to the Air Force Ones to the Air Max 97s - but at the end of the day, the Nike Air Max 95s are the most fuctional, versatile and gorgeous sneakers ever made.

The Nike Air Max '95 are classics - marked by numerous male and female colorways. Air Max '95s provide excellent cushion and support - though, in my opinion, they are better served for style than working out. With the right colorway, Air Max '95s look great at the gym or with jeans / khakis / shorts.

The Specifics: Inside the Nike Air Max 95s

The Nike Air Max 95 is distinctive because of its design: the shoe's body is broken into four slanted, but horizontal layers that usually transition from dark to light colors. The top layer is met with a mesh netting with 6 shoe lace holes coming out of it. The bottom layer attaches to the rubberized sole which contains 8 air bubbles (yes - classic Nike Air) that are usually brightly colored. The Air Max 95's nose is either designed with felt-like material or leather. In my experience, I prefer the non-leather Air Max 95s because the leather ones have a tendancy to crease and show age. The tounge is attached on each side to the interior base of the shoe - which enables you to quickly put the shoes on and wear them untied. The Air Max 95 soles are almost a hyrbid between the ACGs and the traditional Nikes - with treads throughout the base.

Typically, the Nike Air Max 95s are very easy to clean and last for years. As noted above, the most difficult Air Max 95s to maintain or the leather versions - they quickly show wear and age. Also beware of any Air Max 95 where the sole is white - they will scuff and will require attention and cleaning.

There are tons of colorways - and eBay typically has them all. The most versatile colorways are the dark of khaki editions because they go great with jeans or dark colored pants.

A final  note: eBay is the place to buy the Nike Air Max 95s - and to sell them! I have bought Air Max 95s, worn them for an extended period of time, and sold them used for more than I bought them for! Why? Because the Air Max 95s are classics and always in demand. So enjoy!
