I wanted to write a quick guide on what to look out for when buying Jordans on Ebay, from a very high level. There are plenty of guides out there with detailed information and specs, but how does the untrained eye tell the difference quickly. If you have read Malcom Gladwell's book "Blink" i think you will enjoy this.
- Perfection: Retro Jordans that were made 3+ years ago boxes will not be perfect. No matter how or where they are stored cardboard over time softens and edges are never perfect. ASK ABOUT THE BOX if they are a small seller they will
- First Glance: Your first impression is generally the correct one is a true as it gets here. If the shoe is listed for $99 BIN and it does not feel right back away. There will be more pairs available
- Do a little research: There are great sites out there such as Nike Talk and Uptempoair forums that do legit checks for any one that makes a post there. These guys/girls are the experts and they will give you the answers you need.
- Thank Ebay: Ebay has created a policy that does not allow Nike's to be listed in a 1 or 3 Day auction format anymore. This will help stop the scammers from selling shoes as fast.
- Feedback: I put this one last because it can be deceiving. Look for volume over 1,000 feedback is a great sign but new sellers can be just as good. Glance over the feedback and see if you see any patterns. Even though a buyer left a positive, they may been afraid to leave a negative. Read some of the comments and see if the positives contain negative messages.
- SHIPS FROM CHINA: These are fake, enough said. If you receive a pair that shipped from China call the seller and notify Ebay we need to have that userID NARUed.
