New Ebay Clothing Sellers

This is more of a tip than a guide...I have been selling clothing for a little over a year with mostly excellent results.  I also buy clothing.  I have the same expectancy in the quality of the clothing I buy when it is described as I have listed mine.  New sellers...please remember; Excellent condition does not mean stains...no matter how slight you think it might be...full disclosure on condition of the items you are selling will result in better future sales and a possible return customer base for you.  I recently purchased a white blouse from a fairly new seller that was described as "like new"  when I got it it had stains across the back.  I know from selling things that sometimes it is hard to detect discolorations on white shirts.  I emailed the seller, she assured me she did not know and I gave her the benefit of the doubt.  End of story?  No.  She had another shirt and I placed a bid on it...it was also described to be like new...I recieved an email from her saying she was glad that I was taking another chance on her but she did want to let me know there was an eraser size spot on the front of the blouse.  She did not disclose this in the auction.  Had I won this shirt...it would have resulted in bad feedback for her because once I will believe but the second time she admitted she just didn't think it was a big deal.  If you think about it...yes a blouse for a couple of bucks is a good deal..even with an eraser size spot but not when you add on 5-6 dollars for shipping.  So remember...please be clear in your descriptions..my auctions list as follows:

  1. NWT= NEW WITH TAGS ATTACHED
  2. NWOT= NEW WITHOUT TAGS, UNUSED WITHOUT ORIGINAL SALES TAG ATTACHED
  3. L NWOT= LIKE NEW WITHOUT TAGS...MAY HAVE BEEN WORN ONE TIME BUT STILL LOOKS LIKE IT IS IN BRAND NEW CONDITION
  4. EXCELLENT=  MAY HAVE BEEN WORN A FEW TIMES BUT STILL LOOKS EXCELLENT AND HAS NO RIPS STAINS TEARS PICKS PILLS OR FADING
  5. GOOD=  MAY SHOW A LIGHT WASH AND WEAR FADE OR HAVE A FEW PILLS

Those are about the only guidelines that I use because I do not sell anything that has rips stains or tears. So I do not use any other terms in my descriptions.

Hope this helps you.
