Sellers should familiarize themselves with these changes to understand the impact to their business. This is a very brief overview and highlight some of the more common things expected by ebay sellers.

First Class Dimensions - Height - No less than 3.5 inches or greater than 6 1/8 inches, Length - No less than 5 inches or greater than 11 1/2 inches, Thickness - no greater than 1/4 inches. Total maximum weight is now 3.5 ounces (There are some more detailed specifications but these cover most of the details)
Flats (2 Types)
Machinable
Height - Minimum 5 inches and maximum of 12 inches
Length - Minimum 6 inches and maximum 15 inches
Thickness - Maximum 3/4 inches (barcoded), or 1 1/4 inches (not bar coded)
Weight - maximum 20 ounces (bar coded) 4.4 pounds (not bar coded)
Non-Machinable - bar coded or not bar coded that do not meet DMM301.3.0 standards (DMM refers to Domestic Mail Manual)Length - Minimum 6 inches and maximum 15 inches
Thickness - Maximum 3/4 inches (barcoded), or 1 1/4 inches (not bar coded)
Weight - maximum 20 ounces (bar coded) 4.4 pounds (not bar coded)

Priority Mail - A 1 pound parcel goes from $4.05 to $4.60. The amount is the same for a flat rate-envelope regardless of weight. There are also limitations on size of the package now and zone restrictions for heavier packages. Packages that are in zones 5-8 and greater than 1 cubic foot (see 123.1.4 of the postal bulletin). If the package is light then it will be charged by dimensional weight which is calculated based on one of two formulas. (one for rectangular packages and one for nonrectangular packages)
