Being a victim of internet crime, I have learned to be extremely cautious and to not open any email from someone I don't know. It never amazes me how these scammers continue to commit fraud and get it away with it. I think that Legislation and Congress has to wake up and make some of these internet crimes Federal and should start passing bills for tracking down these white collar fraudsters.
The latest scam involves paypal, I received a phone call from someone saying they were from paypal and that they were announcing the new UPS program which had some enhancements to their system with paypal. She preceded to ask me for my paypal email, she read it to me so she had that information, then she asked me about my website and specifically asked me what the url was. I told her that she should have that information in front of her, she quickly changed the subject and informed thaht she would be sending me an email telling me about the program.
The next day, I saw the email in my inbox and when I opened it, it said that this UPS program was free and learn the details on paypal's website, click this link for more information and once you get to the site it will ask for email and password. I found that to be odd because paypal has never called me and I have never had them send me an email with a link before. I ignored and didn't click on it because its more likely a scam. These fraud people are becoming more bold this time calling you at your home.
NEVER OPEN A LINK IN FACT I SHOULDN'T HAD OPENED THE EMAIL .
