We have received several emails over the last two weeks claiming
"Notification of Limited Account Access Unauthorized Funds Transfer"
The email is supposedly from Paypal and claims your account has been compromised and funds have been transferred from your account.
The email asks you to go to a specified location and login providing your password. DO NO SUCH THING This is the scam... they scare you and you login before you realize you are providing your login information to the people who will make an unauthorized transfer and steal your money
These emails are a SCAM !!! What to do if you receive one
1. Look at the origin address it usually reads something other than Paypal. This is your first clue that it is a fake. Paypal emails originate from PayPal Service @paypal.com
2. Scan the email for typos and errors. Paypal has spell check and you will notice in the email that below is misspelled bellow and verbs are used incorrectly with poor english like discover instead of discovered
3. Go to Ebay and login to your Paypal account and verify the activity. There has never been a legitimate transfer or unauthorized transfer as these emails claim
4. Report the incident to Ebay or Paypal (they are the same company) Forward the email to EBay security and let them deal with it they do this for a living.
I hope you find this guide helpful and remember Paypal will never ask for personal information via email and you should never provide this type of information to anyone
Scammers beware we will expose you and continue to make Ebay a safe place to do business
