Reviving the Marx Spirit of Tin Lithograph Style :
Producing tin lithographed trains since 1992 Marx branded trains has brought back that nostalgic feeling of early tinplate trains with construction based on old Louis Marx designs. Using one of the most popular Marx Canadian Pacific F2a designs, they have created scores of new tin engines in the Marx tradition by altering paint, color, lithography and exterior trim. They have brought the classic tin Marx train into the new century.
The intro unit was the Canadian Pacific passenger set of 1992. ...The CP Engine and tender as of 1995.
Tin cars and equipment have also been produced in the same manner. Scale freights began in 1994. Many shiney new lithographed trains are available right here on eBay !
The Six inch car line started in 1996. Many new trains have been built and they are all different than original Marx but are a logical continuation of what could have been but are available now!
The idea to mount a motor in a caboose or car, led to the Elevated rail sets and Thor style engines and of course The Park street Trolley! Just as exploring old Marx archives has helped to produce new trackside accessories.
New ideas and Road Names have brought about many beautiful newly lithographed toy trains, that continue the Marx tradition.
The Marx brand symbolized that this quality adult toy train line was still made and hand assembled in the United States of America !!!! However, those days are ended now. The Marx brand was dropped and Ameritrains Brand ( 2004-2007) took over the tin train line. Currently no more trains are being produced. Currently only archive and old stock are being liquidated.
It was a good run though, fun for a while, and we thank them for the reviving of the Marx tin lithograph line!
