Never Trade-In Again

Say "yes" to the internet:

Make use of the internet. List your car on any of the several used car classifieds. Internet is fast and a single listing reaches many different kinds of people searching for used cars. Of course, don’t underestimate the power of newspapers. People in the age bracket of 30-50 generally rely on newspapers to obtain information about second-hand cars. They still consider newspapers and magazines as the only authentic source of news and information. Don’t miss out on these people.

Say "no" to the typical car dealer:

Don’t trust the typical car dealers to give you the best price for your car. It’s your car, try selling it yourself. You will earn more than the dealer can offer you. If your car is less than 4 years old, dealers will offer you $2000-$3000 less than the market value of your car. If your car is more than 4 years old, most dealers will decline selling it for you as these cars are considered ‘old’ and have little value for prospective customers.

Dealers who agree to give you trade-in value may be tricking you. You may end up receiving only 30-40% of your car’s market value.

If you do decide to go to a typical car dealer, be sure to pre-decide a purchasing price for your used car. The benefit of having a trustworthy dealer is that you are free from any paperwork. The dealer does that for you. It’s even better to have your son, daughter, wife or close friend to help you with your paperwork. In simple terms, ‘Avoid the Dealer.’

Impress your buyers:

Always give the potential buyers a copy of your Vehicle History Report. It will put them at ease. Buyers fear cheats. They will pay you a fair price if they are convinced about your genuineness. Prove to them that your car mileage hasn’t been tampered with. Be honest to them about any car accidents or wreckages.

Remember, honesty saves everyone’s time and Time is Money.
